2012 Toyota Hilux SR Dual Cab Front Speaker Installation - Australia

Eclipse SE6500 6.5" Speakers Installed

$"The SR Hilux fitted my needs for a 4WD ute very well, which is why I chose it. Unfortunately it only came with a basic head unit and 2 paper cone speakers. After I learnt what Toyota wanted to charge for their Eclipse stereo upgrade I decided just to put something in myself for a fraction of the price. I managed to get the speakers at 50% off so wanted to put 2 sets in. The sound is amazing by comparison now to how it sounded before the upgrade. I had decided to put in these adaptors as they were a lot less hassle then trying to make something that deep with MDF and as the car is used off-road and at the beach I thought MDF may be a bad choice. The adaptors purchased were perfect. I went the 7/8 inch ones front and back. The speakers sit perfectly behind the factory trim and do not interfere with the power window movement.
